About Min Jiao

We adopted our daughter through the Waiting Child program (special needs children) with Chinese Children Adoption International (CCAI).  Min Jiao was born in June 2002 (estimated) and entered the Puyang City Social Welfare Institute (orphanage) in June 2006.  We brought her home in September of 2010.

Jiao Jiao’s special needs are left-side hemiplegia (mild paralysis/weakness of her left side), cerebral dysplaysia (abnormal brain development), and porencephaly.  In layman’s terms, she was born with a brain malformation which causes her to walk with a limp.  Her condition is similar to a mild case of cerebral palsy.  Her conditions have not affected her mental/cognitive development.

Hi, We are looking at a little girl’s file with CCAI’s WCP who is also at Puyang SWI. We just got her file today and I have been searching like crazy to find out more about her, her special need, and where she is living. Your blog is one of the first things I found and I was quite surprised when I read that you saw a little baby girl there missing an arm. The little girl we are considering is missing her right arm at the shoulder and she would have been 4 months old in September 2010. I am wondering if this might be the same little one? I wonder if you might have taken any pictures of her? I would love to talk/email you more about this if that is okay with you. Thank you, kelly
